Families & Children
We have regular activities for Families & Children summarised below.
Messy Church
For further information please go to our dedicated Messy Church page.
A warm, friendly, creative and lively parent and toddler group which meets each Thursday from 10:00am until 12:00pm in the Church Hall during school term time. Just turn up, meet with other parents and carers, enjoy a cuppa whilst your child enjoys the craft and play with other toddlers and babies. The group is led by Lorraine Yeomans.
Tots’ Praise – 2nd Thursdays in term time at the end of Stay & Play is our Tots’ Praise where we have songs and a story in church and where the children have the chance to ring the bell and explore the church.
SUNDAYS
Children are very welcome with their families at church on a Sunday. For those with younger children the right hand side of the church has soft play furnishing and a cabinet with boxes of quiet toys, books and colouring. These can be enjoyed at any time in any service. The toilet at the back of the church has a baby changing unit and an additional baby changing unit is in the Church Hall.
The 10am service has activities for all ages. At the start of the service at 10am a child lights the candles before our prayers and praise songs. Except for 1st Sunday of the month which is All Age Worship, the children and young people then depart to the Church Hall for activities in their age groups. They call the 3rd Sunday of the month ‘Grape Sunday’ because the children join in communion with hands on all age creative learning taking place in the church and shared with the adults.
Our Sunday School group is called “Jammers” and is for children aged between 0-10 accompanied by a parent/carer.
DURING THE WEEK:
‘Stay & Play’ is a dynamic parent, baby and toddler group. An opportunity for parents to socialise, chat and play. It is held in the Church Hall, from 10am to 12noon every Thursday during school term time. On the second Thursday of each month there is a “Tots’ Priase” themed session – 30 minutes of Action Songs, a bible story and a craft.
‘Stay & Play’ costs £1 per session including refreshments (tea, coffee, cake etc) for each child and parents/carers.
‘Coffee Pot’ is a group for women where children are welcome. Tuesday mornings each week in a home or the Church Hall Lounge. 10.00am for friendship around a Bible study, prayer and fun.
For more information about the activities for your daughter or son please contact the Church Office.
Occasional Activity Days and other special events are held for children in the village or linked with the school.
‘Children’s Trail’ is for children of all ages. Further information can be obtained here.
